Coating application and verification.

The company applies protective coating systems to the surface grade and film thickness required by the manufacturer's data sheet and PSPC. Spray and brush application is performed by trained crews, with coating inspectors recording each stage. Work is documented for class survey and the coating technical file.

01

Ballast water tank coating

Light coloured epoxy systems applied to PSPC requirements. Two stripe coats and two spray coats to the nominal dry film thickness of the system.

  • Sa 2.5 surface preparation
  • Stripe coats on edges and welds
  • 320 micron NDFT to 90/10 rule
  • Coating technical file maintained
02

Cargo tank and hold coating

Cargo compatible epoxy and phenolic systems for product, chemical and dry bulk service. Specified per intended cargo list.

  • Tank coating per cargo compatibility
  • Hold coatings for abrasion resistance
  • Polyurethane topcoats where specified
  • Cure and ventilation control
03

Surface preparation and ambient control

Conditions monitored and recorded throughout application. Coating only applied within the manufacturer's window.

  • Steel and dew point monitoring
  • Humidity and air temperature logging
  • Profile and cleanliness verification
  • Forced ventilation during cure
04

DFT, holiday and handover

Quality control on every coated compartment, with documentation released on completion.

  • Dry film thickness measurement
  • Low voltage holiday detection
  • Adhesion testing where required
  • Inspection and class sign off
